Some very interesting lineups of races this weekend @ Mt SAC Relays:

Again with Oregon, USC and LSU bringing their fast performers, along with Gabrieille Thomas of Harvard in attendance should spark some competitive performances on the women's side.

Perhaps LSU, Houston, USC and NIKE on the men's side.

Dwight:

The men of Bethune-Cookman acquitted themselves well among the college events they entered. Perhaps the programs you're familiar with are gearing up for Penn.

We'll see on Saturday how the big three schools in this meet compete with the club teams and individuals sponsored by NIKE, Adidas, Altis et al.

The meet is broadcasted by Flotrack.   At least that is the case in my area of the country!

Oregon women come from behind to win 4x1 @ MTSac in 42.12.   LSU comes in 2nd with a no.2 all-time collegiate time of 42.14.

Hopefully a crisis free season will allow these ladies to possibly bring that time down even further @ NCs.

Shea Anderson (CA) ran 51.99 in the HS 400 Inv.   No. 14 all-time.   And she was literally blown away last weekend @ Arcadia, albeit hurdles!

What a day for Deejah Stevens:

  • screaming leg on the world leading 4x1
  • 11.00 - 100m
  • 22.31 - 200m (-0.6)
I realize Cunliffe is an interesting story.   Stevens, since the spring of last year, is simply on another level!

WE thanks for info on Bethune Cookman

Thought they did a solid job given the open/college comp at that meet.   Unfortunately, with Penn, the major SEC schools have taken a new direction.

If you're speaking of the SEC schools not being at Penn, I doubt it. Since USA v. The World, those schools have taken a back slide, so to speak, at that meet. The high schools, with Jamaica in attendance, will undoubtedly continue to draw high.

I expect Oregon and perhaps Florida to lead to excitement this year. UTech might as well. If you're referencing Bethune Cookman, with all appearances, they seem to be a consistent performer at these meets.  Of course, outside looking in (re. elite reputation & quality), has it's advantages at times.

Yes Bethune Cookman  along with North Carolina A&T want to see them run vs the big boys especially A&T in the 4x100 relay want to see if they can have a repeat sub 40.00 effort like the 39.51 they ran earlier this season.
