In looking at the video, I didn't see a lot of emphasis on drive phase. She was not as low and focusing on pushing, but maybe that isn't the focus. I do believe because she is for going college and apparently running as a pro, she will need to be more dynamic and
have a start that will allow for her to be in a position to be there at the end.

I always look at it and approach it from my perspective as to how I would train my sprinters. I would start with first things first, have s strong focus and emphasis on block clearance, drive, pushing, creating adequate angles that allow for sprinter to be in the best position possible to effectively execute the desired moment, again at that phase, or part of the race. In other words for me, not putting the cart before the horse. Part, Part, whole approach. I was telling my athletes yesterday, let's focus and concentrate on one aspect, master that, move to the next aspect. Not knowing what Dennis and Demu, were working on, but it didn't appear again to be much emphasis on angles, body alignment, block clearance, but again I could be wrong on all fronts. The proof will obviously be in the pudding. I do think it is a fair comparison between her and Allyson, of course Allyson competing in and running the 400m and her success at the elite level, is the model for all high school females athletes to strive for, especially skipping college. Jury isn't even out yet on Whitney, as the jury will be out when we see what her first race as pro looks like.

Very good observation Speed. Though her acceleration and transition onset phases are better than her most recent peers, the maximal and sustainable velocities are not. Hill (and quite possibly Kirkland this year) had similar measurable ranges (~40-70m from WJr & JO) last year.

As noted from WJrs, Asher-Smith and Tenorio were able to separate quite early and didn't relinquish much if anything after that. Given her length and mass makeup, is this something similar to where Felix was at one time? Not saying that with ongoing maturity in many areas, that relative progressions will evolve.

But who knows, right? The Mitchell's are probably working on many things as we speak!
